Jawed Karim is a Bangladesh-born German-American internet entrepreneur and a co-founder of YouTube. He was born on 28 October 1979 in Merseburg, East Germany to Bangladeshi parents. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he earned a bachelor's degree in computer science. He co-founded YouTube with Steve Chen and Chad Hurley in 2005. Karim is credited with uploading the first video to YouTube, titled "Me at the zoo," which now has over 160 million views. After YouTube's acquisition by Google, Karim became a millionaire. He is also an investor in several startups and has been involved with the development of several projects. Karim currently lives in California and maintains a low profile.
